Our FUTP 60 5th grade team is training for a race this spring called "Are you faster than a 5th grader?" It is a school district-wide event. They meet every Wednesday to walk and/or run for 30 minutes.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We meet during the school day every Wednesday to train for the event. Our goal is to establish a culture of physical activity that will encourage the students to stay active in the future and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our Program Advisors work with the student team communicating team work to achieve a common goal and the importance of being prepared to achieve our goal. The goal is to be ready to participate in the annual 5K race in April.
