This is the second year that Prince Street Elementary has put on a Curriculum Carnival for our community. In September, our families were invited for a great event on a Saturday in which students participated in grade level appropriate games that touched on current topics being taught in each grade. Also at the event were many other activities such as football, soccer, dancing, basketball and good ol' fashioned fun! Delegates and other officials were also in attendance as well as our Faith based partner, Allen Memorial Baptist Church, who served hot dogs, drinks and ran 2 bounce house stations. Students also had a chance to win bikes and get a digital finger print done by our local police department!

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

One challenge we had was getting staff involved on the weekend! Many of our staff have kids of their own, so we thought getting them to volunteer on the weekend was going to be limited. Because of the awesome morale our school has, we were very surprised at the amount of support we received!
