The 100 Mile Club was a huge success this year. The students came out and really put forth a lot of effort to get better and they all improved in some area of fitness because of this program. We started off with 80 students the first few weeks and by the middle of the program the number dwindled down to about 60 students by week 4-5. By the end of the program, there were about 35 kids attending on average. This program increased our numbers of students that ate breakfast. Not only did the breakfast numbers go up, but the school attendance increased as well since the implementation of the program. The program was a total success and I can't wait to implement it next year.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Since the implementation of the program, our school has acquired a model breakfast cart to ensure students are eating breakfast no matter where they are in the building. We have also acquired a bluetooth speaker that allowed the students to hear music while they did their 2 mile walk/run. The music really helped bring in the students and was one of the key factors that made this program such a huge success.
