Cutler Kick Off

To start our Fuel Up to Play 60 program, we planned an afternoon of physical activity! Each grade had a full 60 minutes of time to play. We planned 12 activities stations which groups stayed in for 5 minutes. We had a local loan some equipment so the kids could try some new activities. We had hula hoops, jump ropes, medicine ball, high jump, long jump and so many many more fun stuff. A local beverage supply company donated water, so each kid had a drink. A local food service company provided the kids with granola bars.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Each group was challenged to allow everyone to try the activities. Some of the play stations the kids had to work as a team to complete.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Our goal was to kick off and introduce the school to the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. We wanted to build some excitement for the program... It worked!!!!! Since then we have signed up at least 100 kids... And have 5 school ambassadors.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Kids have more of an interest in being active!
