Dance Marathon FTK

Our school does a mini dance marathon to raise money for children's cancer research. Students bring in pennies on Monday, nickels on Tuesday, dimes on Wednesday, quarters on Thursday and dollars on Friday. On Friday night in our school's gym, we hold a mini dance marathon that is in connection with the University of Iowa's Dance Marathon. Moral dancers from the University come and dance with us. The 2 weeks leading up to the dance marathon we do dancing in PE. Five 6th grade students made up a dance to a popular hit song and video taped it along with the instructional dance steps to show the whole school.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students made a dance to the song, "What do you Mean?". They broke the dance down into 3 parts and made an instructional video. I recorded them dancing so the students in my class would be able to dance along with them like a Just Dance video.
