Developing Healthy Choices through Success in Parenting Classes
Students built success by using the new equipment and cooking with it to make lunch and dinner meals for children. They learned through cooperation and teamwork together. They were able to plan and count calories with their meals. They did a great job.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students planned a meal that would be appropriate for a younger age child. They brought in color and their expertise with new equipment. Students modeled appropriate behaviors with others in their groups. They sampled and shared the meal with each team.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goals by having the professional equipment that students could use and be proud of. Students have never had this program at their school before or been able to use the equipment that had been paid for through Funds for Fuel Up to Play 60. Thank you.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will be having more labs for the students for the rest of the school year and future years. When the students are proud of the equipment and are able to use the professional kitchen aid machines, professional salad shooters, and food processors, they spread the word to other students and enjoy the experience.
