Difficult but made it happen !!!

Delmar Reis,   Bridgeport Military Academy
Physical Activity Participation

In October, BMA's FUTP 60 team and student council came together to start a kickoff to the new school year. We had lack of equipment and a place to hold the event at school. It took over a month itself to present to each class why FUTP 60 was important and what it was all about, along with convincing our principal to allow us to hold the event. Eventually, we solved the issue of not having a place to hold the event and went to a near by high school's field to play. We also used some of their equipment including our own. The kickoff was great, we held a soccer tournament and a Flag Football game, there was so much to do, and of course we had water and healthy snacks available to students as they played.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and adults came together to secure a field for activities. Students as well as teachers brought in equipment to use.

How did you accomplish your goals?

With support from everyone at our school and with help from a neighboring high school.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Challenges we faced were lack of a field, lack of equipment and having to convince the appropriate people of the importance of physical activity by using the FUTP 60 program.
