District 4.9K Walk/Run
Our Fuel Up to Play 60 team sponsored a booth at our District's 4.9K Walk/Run. Students shared the importance of eating healthy and being physically active every day. Participants were given FUTP 60 pencils and stickers,"I Love Milk" stickers. buttons, and bookmarks. The goal of the students was to provide information for the community on what Fuel Up to Play 60 is all about. We are hopeful that more students in the district will join the FUTP 60 team and more adults would become Program Advisors at their child's school.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Our goal was accomplished, as we were able to encourage participants in the District 4.9K Walk/Run event to eat healthy and be physically active. The improvements we have seen at our school are that more students are being physically active before, during, and after school. Teachers have taken an active role by incorporating 20-30 minutes of physically activity each day into their classroom routine. There is a higher consumption of fruits and vegetables taken from the salad bar at lunch.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We plan to make this play last during the school year and beyond by providing students and parents a time to register for the FUTP 60 program at school during back to school night and during the school day for students.
