Breakfast in the Classroom
Community Involvement

This year, the Fuel Up to Play 60 team and I were intent on making sure that students were aware of the benefits and positive effects of breakfast in the morning. With that being said, we brainstormed and came up with great ideas to inspire kids to start their day off right. Our team made morning announcements and skits during the year to inform kids how breakfast really charges your "batteries" in their bodies. We also put up signs around hallways that emphasized important facts about breakfast. Through our school district, our kids are able to recieve breakfast in their classroom. Also, during my PE class, the students are able to recieve instruction on healthy/unhealthy breakfasts.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We brainstormed on various ideas that we could implement during their ancillary times. The students also did research at their homes and created posters and flyers to display on campus. We collaborated with school administration to put together public service announcements that took place during morning announcements.
