Physical Activity Participation

Physical activity was one of the goals of FUEL UP TO PLAY 60 members for the 2016-2017 school year. The FUEL UP members decided they wanted to have a time before and after school to get together to play games. Each week a different game is chosen by the FUEL UP members. Students like to know what they are playing the following week. By having them choose the activity, they have a buy in to participate. The number of participants has grown since the beginning of the school year.

How did you accomplish your goals?

This goal was accomplished by the Wellness Committee at school along with Fuel Up members. It was decided that there would be two days available to walk and one day a week for an activity.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The advisors and members of Fuel Up worked together by deciding on a time and a day to have activities. The Fuel Up members choose the activity for the following week. Participation has increased since fall.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The advisors and other staff have volunteered to supervise the activity each week. The Fuel Up members enjoy the activities so it will be something we continue next year also.
