Friday, October 9, students from the Eau Gallie High School football team and cheerleaders joined us at our before school Morning Mile run/walk. Our students were thrilled to be around the "big" kids! One third grader challenged the football players to a race and won! Even though their homecoming was that night, the high school boys raced with the little kids. It was a wonderful community event! We plan to continue having the high school students join us, maybe once a month. Not only were they participating with our Morning Mile students, but they were also welcoming all students to school in the car loop and bus loop. Once the bell rang for our students to get to class, the high school students were treated to a small continental breakfast! This was a very successful event!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students worked with teachers by offering to complete tasks to get ready for this visit. Students made welcoming posters for the high school kids. Parents showed up to help run the program so that the students could run or walk.
