The Fuel Up to Play 60 Team, which is composed of over 20 members at Ridgely Elementary School, showed student leadership through the "In-Class Physical Activity Break Play." The students planned exercises to do with all the classrooms in the school on the day before holiday breaks, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. The students met with their assigned classroom teacher and planned an appropriate time for them to come in to lead exercises and to encourage the students to be active for 60 minutes a day during the break from school. The team members planned their exercises and lessons during our monthly Fuel Up to Play 60 meetings.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students and adults worked together to choose which team members would visit each classroom to ensure all grades (PK- 5th) were given the opportunity to have a "In-Class Physical Activity Break."

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We plan to do this play 4 times a year before breaks from school (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and Summer Break).
