End of the Year Field Day
Our student leadership team worked very hard all year long and helped to generate ideas for exercise signage to be placed around our baseball fields as part of the school Walking Club trail. We unveiled these station signs at an end of the school year Field Day event. Students rotate to 7 stations including the fitness trail, disc golf / bag toss / soccer croquet, drip drip drop, a parachute name game, chalk and bubbles, Dancing in the gym and healthy snacks include a smoothie popsicle, animal crackers, and low fat string cheese. The kids were partnered with the book buddies from the school year so we had 5th graders and Kindergarten students playing side by side and 4th and 1st graders and 2nd and 3rd grades. The younger students loved the last opportunity to be with their older book buddy friends that they have been looking up to all year long. What a great experience and opportunity for our school to come together before Summer break.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

My student leadership team came up with some great ideas for the fitness trail. I worked with the adults to come up with the wording to be associated with the skills and wrote a grant to secure funds to purchase the metal signs so this program would continue into the future. We will reintroduce this fitness trail to our students in the Fall as well.
