Access to Healthy Foods,  Community Involvement

This past Fall, we visited Kurtland Farms in Elverson, PA. This farm was 100% robotic, so the students got to learn how technology integrates with dairy farmers. They learned what it takes to care for a cow - from feed to hygiene to milking. Our students enjoyed this trip tremendously! They got to feed baby calves and watch the robots milk the cows.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We discussed where to go and what expectations the students had for the trip. We raised the money for transportation, presented the trip to the principal and got the trip approved.
