I visited students during lunch time hours at Fall Brook Elementary School to discuss the importance of nutrition and smoothies. Throughout the visit, I was able to walk from table to table and discuss with students about ways to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables in smoothies. I also reviewed the importance of protein, vitamins and minerals. The students asked appropriate questions and were interested in learning about smoothies as a healthy breakfast or lunch option. Teachers and aides were positive advocates for students throughout this time. To see the students as well as the adults become energized about health, nutrition and smoothies made all the difference for me. The day was a great experience and success for all involved!or

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and adults were able to work together as a team throughout this visit as adults encouraged student engagement and participation about learning about nutrition. As adults became excited about the event, students did as well. It was an encouraging feeling to see both adults and students interacting about smoothies and nutrition.
