Family Fitness Night

BJ Ward hosted Family Fitness Night. Students brought their parents to school for an evening of activity. Our team of 12 student leaders facilitated nine fitness stations. Everyone in attendance received a free bottle of water courtesy of the PTA. Our showcase station was a FUTP 60 promo station. Here we had a milk mustache photo booth, Illinois State Ambassador Johnny Dugan, posters featuring our Plays, online sign-ups, an article from Chicago Tribune featuring our FUTP 60 grant money, student smoothie contest winners, etc. This was a great event to get families involved with fitness and to promote our FUTP 60 endeavors.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Team members worked closely with certified staff to facilitate their event. Students worked with parents at each of the stations.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We worked closely with the PTA to get our invitations to the event, supply the water, and run the photo booth.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will host another activity event at the next parent teacher conference. Families can enjoy fitness together in our inflatable obstacle courses. We will also play the slideshow we made for the milk mustache photo booth at the next event.
