"Go Pack Go!" was the cheer Franklin Elementary School students began their day with on an announcement from Nurse Kellea. Her voice rang out over the morning announcements to congratulate them for being chosen as a school to participate in the Fuel up to Play 60 program! Students also eagerly signed their pledge banner during lunch time. In doing so, they pledged to learn more about eating fruits, veggies, and dairy and about how to "fuel" up their bodies with 60 minutes of activity daily. Students were motivated by the life sized Morgan Burnett greeting them on their way into the lunchroom and holding the marker in his hand that they used to sign! Even our principal and teachers took the pledge! Teachers learned about the Fuel up to Play 60 program at a staff meeting in an engaging power point presentation that started with 5 jumping jacks. Our student team was identified during the staff meeting by an eager teacher volunteering her classroom. Franklin Elementary School is fueled and ready to play this season!
