We had a fun, educational and productive year during physical education at Dr. J.A. Garcia Elementary. We learned about eating healthy, making good drink choices such as milk and water instead of sweetened drinks, and staying fit. The importance of working out in exciting ways at school and at home with friends and family was emphasized often. In addition to health lessons taught by Coach McMillan, we learned educational information from various guest speakers. They helped us learn more about exercising daily at least 60 minutes, realizing the necessity to sleep enough hours to function well the next day and by teaching us that we need to help our bodies stay healthy by making smart choices every day. It is outstanding that Dairy Max, The National Dairy Council and the NFL sponsor such an exceptional program. Fuel Up to Play 60 was a bigger success this year. More kids were involved and we had more Student Ambassadors than last year. The Dr. J.A. Garcia Team made others aware of how fun it is to get involved in the program. They encouraged their friends to join as well. I look forward to another successful year with the outstanding program Fuel Up to Play 60, sponsored by Dairy Max, The National Dairy Council and the NFL in the year to come.
