Food Expo

The Starfish Student Team assisted at the annual School Food Service Food Expo on Oct. 22. The team was selected to assist the local School Wellness Consultant; they assisted with presenting on the importance of brain breaks. They also lead students with dancing to the Rowdy brain breaks – Milkshake. There were students from other area schools that came around in rotations, the brain breaks station was one of two stations, they listened to the presentation and were able to get up and dance along to the Milkshake with the Starfish team. The team had a great time dancing and providing the brain breaks education to fellow students. After the presentations they were able to participate in the food expo. They walked around sampling school food and gathered information on their favorites to share with district’s school food service department. They meet the food service director at the expo and were thrilled to be invited to attend the next Student Health Advisory meeting, were they will share their favorite items with the group. It was a great experience for the team which will help build their presentation and leadership skills. Thank you to FUTP 60 and Dairy MAX for providing this memorable day for my Starfish team.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and adults worked to make a great team! The students were able to learn and have fun performing the dances for the audience. Afterwards, the adults gave an education class on brain breaks from Fuel Up to Play 60!
