We have partnered with our local Farmer's Market from January to June. They have donated a fruit or vegetable (something a little unusual) for all students to taste. Our PTO parents volunteers wash/cut  them into pieces and place them on a plate for each classroom. An information sheet regarding the nutritional value and a recipe attached is sent home with students. We are aware of all allergies! Most students love the program and enjoy trying new foods!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We are sustaining this project! The market has agreed to donate food for the next few years. They believe it is important to promote good nutrition for our students. Our students create thank you posters/cards for the business--good PR. It is a win-win !

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are making healthy choices and not afraid of tasting new foods!!!

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goal by partnering with community. We are also working on a Farm to School Program for the spring/fall!
