Community Involvement

Southwest Middle School hosted their first ever Fresh Food Drive to help an organization called Circle of Concern. In the past our school has always done a canned food drive; however this year we thought why not be healthier and donate fresh foods to help those in need. The school donated over 3,000 pounds of fresh food to the Circle of Concern. The students rallied together and led this successful Fresh Food Drive at our school.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The staff worked together to organize and prepare for the collection of food. Then we had students lead and take over from there by spreading the word and advocating for the Circle of Concern.
