Access to Healthy Foods, Community Involvement, Teamwork
Throughout the month of October, Norris Middle Redbirds were promoting the health benefits of consuming fresh milk and educated everyone about the need for fresh milk in area pantries. The "Redbird Nation" encouraged the student body to fill empty milk containers with change to purchase fresh milk for families in need. Students purchased 160 gallons of milk and donated it to Omaha area pantries.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
Students encouraged each other to drink their milk at breakfast and lunch rather than throwing it away. Teachers and students worked together to collect money to purchase milk for families in need. We came together as a school to help each other and those in need to be able to access milk for health.
