In order to hit all levels of activity, we make sure we introduce the students to a variety of ways to be active. Students are taught about exercising at home, games and activities that can be played at home, sports to get involved in, gardening as a healthy lifestyle, climbing, biking, hiking, and dance. I make up a dance every year to teach the school. Most Fridays in the morning when I have bus duty, I have the kids "dance it out" to start the day on a FUN/WOW note. The students at Aiken love to dance so much, I took it one step further. I teach every homeroom a dance and they compete in June for the "mirror ball trophy". It has become quite a large event. We have guest judges, costumes, a large audience, and more!! The kids really enjoy it a lot and it is a great way to close out the year. This year's Dance Celebration theme is Movies. Thank you Fuel Up to Play 60 for always supporting us in every way!!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

I make sure I teach the students an upbeat dance to do for the year. For the dance celebration, I download a dj app and mix music for them. I then choreograph a dance for each room and teach it to them.
