From Cow to Cafeteria

Our entire 4th grade GJM min-mustangs took a field trip to learn how agriculture and farm animals are the essence of our diet. Students then came back to school and gave talks on where milk comes from and how it is "cleansed" and then brought to us for healthy drinks and food such as milk and ice cream.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We talked about a plan, demonstrated the plan, and then executed the plan for healthy eating and fitness activities.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We have dedicated "Fun Fridays" to focus on our weekly Fuel Up to Play 60 due to the fact that we teach all 563 students in our school that day.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Our students are now bringing healthy snacks, such as yogurt, and healthy beverages, such as chocolate milk, from their homes for snack time.
