From Recess to Color Run

Our FUTP 60 team hosted a Spirit Week for our school leading up to our big fundraiser. In addition, they joined kids at recess each day to teach them new games and activities to help boost physical activity. Our FUTP 60 members were true leaders and had a lot of fun in the process. This event led the way for our Color Run fundraiser for our whole school community.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We worked together to choose recess activities that would be appropriate for each grade level (and easy to teach).

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We hope the kids are remembering the games taught during the week and are continuing to play them. We would also like to have another chance for our FUTP 60 team to do it again!

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

It was a little tricky because the kids were missing a few hours of instruction. The teachers gave them the responsibility to make up the work during "office hours." It ended up working very well and I think the kids learned a lot about leadership.
