Fuel Up to Play 60 motivated our students to create an entire week dedicated to wellness!!! After administrative approval, we created a theme for each day that would increase physical activity time, improve food choices, and address various ways to cope with stress. Monday was dance day where the school took 3 dance breaks for 2 minutes each as we played music over the intercom. Tuesday was high five to play 60 day where each student in the school wrote down their favorite physical activities on their own paper hand. We hung the hands on banners in the hallway. Wednesday was healthy snack mix day where the fuel Ambassadors mixed together a nutritious blend of ingredients as a between-meals healthy food option. All of the students were able to sample the mix at lunch. Thursday was distress day where teachers and students practiced calming breathing techniques. Friday was dress like your favorite athlete day where students were able to dress like and resemble a valued athlete of their choice!
