Fuel Up Free For All

We had hundreds of students attend our Fuel Up to Play 60 breakfast event. We had lots of fun games and prizes set up for students to motivate them to come check out what we were doing. We had several exciting games such as; water bottle flipping challenge, ticket raffle for prizes such as t-shirts, bean bag toss and lots of awesome music playing in the eating area. We had a wide variety of breakfast that the students were allowed to chose from, such as; smoothies, fruit parfaits, and many other breakfast options. The students definitely enjoyed a great morning of fun and food! The greatest part of this event was that it was free to every single student, including the breakfast.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students arrived to school early to set up the prizes, games and music. They sacrificed getting up early to make sure everything ran smoothly. The adults helped and the cafeteria workers worked really hard all morning to make sure that all the food was prepared and ready to be devoured!

How did you accomplish your goals?

We had record numbers of students who came to eat breakfast for the first time ever! This was huge. We were able to demonstrate what type of healthy options were available.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We would like to continue to incorporate Fuel Up to Play 60 Breakfast once a quarter. We also have continued to see our breakfast numbers increase since the beginning of the year. We were able to help kids know what healthy and awesome options were in the cafeteria!
