Fuel Up to Play 60 Active Day
The students in our school come to PE 3 times a week. On Fridays, every class from each grade level will come together and we will have a Fuel Up to Play 60 Active Day. This gives the students 4 total days a week for 45 minutes each. The students look forward to Fuel Up to Play 60 Active Day each Friday. On those days we remind students how physical activity and movement is exercising. There are several ways to exercise such as dancing, playing in sports etc. On Fuel Up to Play 60 Active Day we do a dance for a warm up. Sometimes we do the whip and nae nae dance but add in push ups, squats, high knees, jumping jacks etc. We also do cardio fitness work outs using music. During Fuel Up to Play 60 the students get to choose which activity they would like to play. Activities such as football, soccer, 4 square, jump rope, hula hoop, basketball etc. This Friday class has encouraged students to go out and play after school for at least 60 minutes each day. The kids love active day and look forward to it each week.
