Today was our kick off and we implemented a healthy food bar. We decided to try some out of the box choices such as red pears and chocolate spinach smoothies. I had one student who stated that he enjoyed the smoothie and another student who stated he liked the carrots!!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The team came together and formulated an idea for the healthy food bar. Each student was assigned a duty. On the day of the kick off, each student was in place, assisting as needed, and we had staff that jumped in to help as well.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We conducted a survey and the student body stated they want to continue with the healthy food bar. We will meet as a team to discuss what the next one will be.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

I thought that I could do multiple things at once. The staff assisted me when they noticed a problem such as students getting congested at the sample table.
