This was a great school event that brought our kids, school mascot, and music along with a very positive message to get out and be active and eat healthy. We had a writing contest for 4th-6th grade for which students were asked to write " what could I do to make our school healthier." We had around 24 students turn in essays. Those students' writing pieces were then voted on by the team advisers. We selected 2 students from each grade for our team to go to Ford Field.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The team advisers had many meetings to choose our school team. We asked Davenport University softball team to come and talk to the students about how they train and how they eat healthy. At the assembly, we surprised the kids who got selected for the team by telling them they were going to Ford Field.
