This is a letter from one of our student leaders: Fuel Up To Play 60 allows me to take on a leadership role and motivate my friends and peers at my high school. The program gives me an opportunity to show my enthusiasm for self-improvement through exercise. Exercise and nutrition have several benefits, such as increasing strength, endurance and becoming healthier. It has been an honor to be a leader of a program that benefits those at my high school and nationwide. I am excited to see how the program can benefit my school over the next few months. This program allows me to help others come up with a plan to incorporate exercise and proper nutrition into their lives.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students, myself, and the special education department worked together to implement classroom activity breaks for our self-contained classrooms. We worked together to create a plan for implementation, coordinate times for students to visit classrooms, and modify implementation of the Play as needed. Overall, the Play has worked very well and provided a much needed break to our students.
