Today at Travis Elementary, the coaches had the students from each grade formed a circle around a parachute. They gave the instructions to see how high they could pop balls up in the sky. The 5th grade popped the highest, but it was the 3rd grade that showed teamwork. This class has the most students in the school next to 1st grade. The 3rd grade also includes the SLU children (children with disabilities). They all worked together and popped the ball high. Now this may sound simple, but this group of children has grown a lot from the first day of school.
What improvements have you seen at your school?
The children are learning to help anyone, no matter what their ability.
How did you accomplish your goals?
We accomplished our goals by working together and giving out instructions so everyone could understand.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
Our challenge was to have everyone to bend down at the same time and to lift the parachute up at the same time to pop the ball high.
