Smoothies in the Morning make Your Day Smoother
Because of the generous "Fuel Up To Play 60" school grants we have received, we were able to purchase an ice machine, several rolling carts, and reuseable camchillers. We have added more smoothies to our menu and they are a big hit with the students and the teachers. We have also added parfaits that sell out every time. Cafeteria manager, Mrs. Ann Bankston, is an integral part of the program's success. She is always looking for ways to increase the student's daily dairy usage. When the smoothies and parfaits are offered on the menu, the number of students who eat breakfast and lunche always increases.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The teachers, cafeteria manager, faculty members, and students have combined their efforts and are Program Advisors; as well as student advisors. The Talented Theatre actors and actresses have written, choreographed, and filmed several "rap" song and short scene videos promoting healthy eating, fuel up with dairy, and making healthy choices. These actors and actresses used their creative writing talents to write and re-write each script before progressing to the fliming stages.
