Great Farm to School Year
We have had a great "Farm to School" year so far. We started in September with our "Kick Off," titled "Barnyard Bash." We had plenty of healthy samples for students to try, games, prizes and trivia in the cafeteria. Meanwhile in the gym, we had physical activity competitions. It was a great way to start the new school year. With our FUTP 60 grant money, we had a "Farm to School" mural painted in our cafeteria. It is beautiful and inspires and reminds the students every day about where our food comes from. Finally (with the help of our FUTP 60 coach) partnered with "Discover Dairy",  we have adopted a dairy calf. They have sent us pictures, authentication and educational material. We will follow our new baby as she grows into a grown up cow. We are very excited about her and the year so far. Thanks to FUTP 60 for inspiring us to continue to grow and learn!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

This Play will last all year and for years to come. The mural alone will remind students about where our food comes from. The healthy samples reinforce it.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We had meetings with our Youth Advisory Council for ideas and for them to sign up to help. We invited staff and encourage them to participate.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Our cafeteria looks warm and inviting. We have had many comments. We will continue on this path.
