Our students have kicked off the year right, learning about where their food comes from in order to help them make smarter choices about what they eat. At our school, you will see artwork that displays healthy eating tips, wheat fields (inspired by Van Gogh), vegetables, fruits, apples, cows, pigs, chickens, farms, crops, and bees (because without them, what would you have to eat?).
How did students and adults work together as a team?
Teachers and students collaborated and researched exactly where our food comes from before it makes its way to the meals on our plates.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
We were challenged with how to connect our topic to artwork. It was a huge success and we all look forward to bringing in a farmer in the spring!
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
Students are encouraged to continue looking into where their food comes, as well as create new and improved healthy eating posters to promote a healthy lifestyle.
