United Way Day of Caring at McArthur Elementary
On October 13, 2017, the AWKO law firm came out to help us get our garden back up and running. They did more than just help. The completely redid the garden. They pulled up all of the weeds, replaced all of the soil and purchased the seeds for us to plant some vegetables and fruit. We now have a Farm to School garden. The kids had so much fun helping in the garden.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We partnered with United Way of Escambia County Day of Caring and AWKO law firm. They were extremely helpful. They sent 20 volunteers and worked in the garden from 8am-2PM

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The garden was completely redone

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Continue to have different classes work in the garden
