Wow, what a year we have had to date! FUTP 60 has provided us with some amazing opportunities. Our 5th grade participants enjoyed a NFL video visit with Cai Forbath, a kicker for the Vikings, in September. We had our official Kickoff event in October and 25 4th grade student joined our FUTP 60 team. Later that month, they all helped out while Adams hosted a school-wide taste test sponsored by the Nutrition department in our school district. FUTP 60 team members  scooped up samples and handed them out to students during lunch, which lasts from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m! We have an enrollment of over 600 students in our school. In November, we concentrated on all team members signing on to the FUTP 60 website. No small task when you only have 30 minutes!! All were encouraged to make visits often to the site and record their activity. Our latest big adventure in February, was having 4 of our team attend the Super Bowl Experience! Can't wait to hear stories as they share that information in the coming week. We are now planning on working with our nutrition department to educate all students on food waste and work on ways to reduce it our school.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our students did a great job of listening to each other and the adults and taking direction as needed. We are learning to be respectful and polite leaders and modeling that for all students in our school.
