Getting Started at Northern Arizona
My school is in the poverty level of our community. For this reason, our funds have been limited for build up sports equipment for the students to use at lunch break or even in their P.E. class. After last years Program Advisors training, I came back to campus with a complete NFL Flag Football set. The students are now coming and checking out the equipment and getting their own games going during lunch. It is nice to see these kids smiling and having a blast. Thank you Fuel Up to Play 60 for helping me give them that break from reality and let loose. Our next project is to get them more than just a dirt lot that they can play on.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students were wanting physical fitness classes and a teacher volunteered to design a fitness program for the school. She learned about the FUTP60 and jumped in with both feet.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Our biggest challenges at Northern Arizona Academy is funding. Although our director is working hard to write grants and make things happen it is really tough. We all know how long grants can take. The school board the staff and the students are all pulling together to make as many things happen as possible.
