The Recess Refresh Play did what it was designed to do. Since activities such as tether ball, funnel ball, 4-square, jump roping, hula hoops, volleyball area and other activities were made accessible for recess time, the students are more active. Compared to when the students only had playground structures to use during recess, the number of physical altercations have decreased on the playground. Attached is a picture of the basketball court in the process of being painted.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
Students and adults worked together (classroom teachers), allowing the students to do surveys to gather information on the process of refreshing the recess area.
