Students and parents started the Jogging and Walking Club  on Tuesdays before school at 7:30 AM. Each participant tracks how many miles they complete throughout the year. Students work through running cards and get rewards for every milestone they complete. Parents and volunteers count each lap the students do by punching a hole in the card and when the card is filled up, the student receives an incentive and starts the next milestone. The students also play games and activities that are fun and are fitness orientated. 5th grade students also take on leadership roles by leading stretches and warmups.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students walk and run together and complete laps together. They encourage each other and are active in helping each other maintain their current fitness goals.

How did you accomplish your goals?

I sent home permission slips and picked a date to start.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Each student received a running card that had his/her name on it to track how many laps they are completing. Parents punch a hole in the card for every lap completed. Some parents also participate with their child and walk/run with them.
