Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Leaders taught Fitness Games to their peers to play at recess. The games had to be new ones that have not been seen on the playground before, include everyone, no waiting, and raise the heart rate.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The adults discussed the parameters and the students came up with the games then reviewed the games with the adults before teaching the games at recess. This worked nicely. Students and adults reflected on how each game worked and made adjustments to the games to make them all safe and fun.
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
We will continue to include the games as a recess choice.
What improvements have you seen at your school?
More students are included in the games. As the games start, all are able to join in. It's a rule that everyone is included in every game.
