Fuel Up to Play 60 Recreation Night
Students from Flinn Middle School were offered the opportunity to enjoy additional recreational activities after school on a Friday night from 4pm to 6pm. The activities included volleyball and basketball in the main gym, open swim in our pool, and floor hockey in the cafeteria. About 100 students participated and played in safe and self-organized activities. Each student that was admitted was provided a Fuel Up Raffle Ticket. This provided them an opportunity to win door prizes; these prizes included a variety of Fuel Up to Play 60 items, donations from our local bowling alley and ice hockey donations from the NHL Blackhawks affiliates the Rockford IceHogs. We were able to provide about 20 prizes. Students actively participated for 2 hours, meeting new students in other grade levels and appreciating the opportunity to organize a positive activity for a fun Friday night!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

If the students enjoyed a particular activity, we encouraged them to try out for that team next school year!!
