Hialeah Gardens Middle School has scored a Touchdown using the Fuel Up to Play 60 program and grant funds. The students have become extremely active participating in the 100 mile club and getting a grab and go breakfast. How did you accomplish your goals?

We organized a Fuel Up To Play 60 team to promote participation all over the school in the morning and during Physical Education Class. We started off with the 100 mile club and started offering incentives for students participating and then getting a grab and go breakfast. This increased participation in fitness and we also organized flag football activities with the Fuel Up To Play 60 footballs and flags.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Participation continues to increase with the grant funds and we are still planning on having more incentives for the active students. Also the cafeteria will be improving their look with a wrap on the walls to appeal to all the students. Grab and Go Breakfast is offered daily so the students can maximize their activity time.
