Physical Activity Participation

This school year, we have implemented what we've called "Fun Fridays" where we are providing physical activity for students during lunch periods in the form of games. We have played foursquare, ping pong, Spikeball, and jump rope, and bean bags are coming up! The response by students has been overwhelmingly positive, as students are enjoying participating in "recess" all over again! The games do not require a lot of skill, which makes them enjoyable for everyone!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students came up with the ideas for the different games, and the adults helped make it happen!

How did you accomplish your goals?

We utilized some of our Fuel Up to Play 60 funding to purchase some of the equipment needed for our games.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Because of the continued interest by the students, and because now we have the equipment, it is easy to continue providing this physical activity outlet for our students during the day.
