FUTP 60 Awesome at Pepin Academy
Our School has shared a few Success Stories on various social media platforms using the hashtags #FUTP60 and #FuelGreatness. Among these was a dodgeball tournament held after school, where students participated from 12-3:30 in athletic competition. We had over 100 students participate in this event. We have started spending our funds and will soon have a yogurt machine and other cool equipment. We are using our Flag Football Kit as part of our curriculum in PE and the kids love it. We have used the flags for our school Flag Football team as well as at recess. The kit has also been used after school in various ways. Additionally, we have our Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Plays posted around the school and in the school newsletter. We are constantly trying to improve our health here at Pepin Academy. This month, we are having heart health messages as part of Heart Health month. A student announcer is reading daily messages across the intercom. The first message cited research that eating breakfast lowers your risk of heart disease. Hello Healthy Eating Play!!!! Breakfast for all!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

This plan continues forever!!! We always strive to be healthier. This campus will always try to get everyone active and eating breakfast (we even made breakfast free for students!!!!)

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The kids are happier and more energetic, the sense of community has improved, and the kids have more opportunities.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The adults gave the students the support they needed to execute the plan. None of this is possible without the kids and without the adults and kids working together. We provided an intercom for the kids to make announcements, etc.
