Members of our FUTP 60 student committee created and demonstrated the FUTP 60 chant/rap for the Chant Challenge. The students performed the rap during 5th and 6th grade lunch and the 4th grade "Fish" which is a meeting of all fourth grade students.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The students created the chant and asked me, the advisor, when they could perform for the school. I reached out to the teachers to arrange the performances. We also reached out to our music teacher to assist with the rap. She was very excited the boys approached her to be involved.
How did you accomplish your goals?
The boys were able to create the rap, practice with the music teacher and perform for the students at GIS.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
Timing the performances were an issue for the fourth grade performance as the "fish" is usually in the morning and two out of the three FUTP 60 students attend classes at our MS in the morning.
