Physical Activity Participation

Students wore sports jerseys and t-shirts to school for the Fuel Up to Play 60 Kickoff Day. They had fun relays in p.e., wore milk mustache stickers and watched the introduction to the FUTP 60 video.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The Program Advisors met with administration and got them on board to allow classroom teachers to participate in Jersey Day. Students were excited about finding out what Fuel Up is and what the program has to offer them.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

There is a serious lack of technology in the gymnasium. I took over a segment of the school announcements and dragged an old TV into the gym for students to be able to watch the video.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The program has allowed students an opportunity to really think of ways to become more active. The program has sparked a conversation about goals, values and what being an active person means.
