Ann King, Westchester Academy For International Studies
Students visited the FFA farm today to learn about raising animals on a farm, how to care for them, the commitment farmers make to their animals, and careers related to farming. Many students have never seen pigs, goats, and cows up close and were excited to get close and pet these animals. Several of our campus students are active with FFA and have animals they raise and shared information about raising their animals and what they are learning for future farming. It was an eye opening experience for my students and a treat to learn hands-on about farming
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
Students are learning about farmers and the important role they play in feeding us. From raising crops to animals, farmers are vital. Students are learning to appreciate the commitment farmers make to grow food and raise animals. They are also learning where their food comes from and the benefits of making healthy food choices in their diets
