GaGa Pit at Granville Middle School
The Granville Middle School(GMS) PE teacher, Susan Zenah, suggested when the GMS FUTP 60 team was writing our grant that we include a GaGa Pit request. The Industrial Technology teacher, Christian Reinke, ordered the lumber and built the Gaga Pit. Now the students are enjoying it as an additional activity everyone can play in PE at GMS. The students love the activity. This would never have been possible without the funding from the American Dairy Farmers. Thanks so much!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students wrote the grant with suggestions from adults and then the Industrial Arts teacher, Christian Reinke constructed the GaGa pit and made it portable. Now students are enjoying playing with the new PE equipment that will be used for many activity times in the future at GMS.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We researched and discuss what size GaGa Pit we needed, ordered the parts, and then our Industrial Arts teacher made it. We received donated carpet squares from a Newark flooring company to make this possible.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

This physical activity GaGa Pit will add fun to activity times and PE classes for many years to come!
