Our school has an enrichment time block once a week where scholars can try out new things and learn new skills. I am in charge of a girls running group. This group not only helps achieve a healthy lifestyle but it builds confidence in young ladies and it teaches them to love and accept each other for who they are. I had one girl who was in my group who was sort of shy and not involved much. After getting to know her and seeing how she really took to running, I encouraged her to try out for the track team. This young lady tried out, and pushed herself and tried new experiences that she would be too shy to face if she wasn't in the running club. Since then, she still actively participates in longer runs and has much more confidence in herself.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Encouraging a healthy lifestyle and being active is something I am passionate about. Seeing the change and confidence in this one scholar is something I want to continue and build upon with many more.
